How I drank Kölsch beer part 2

Now only about the most basic, about him, about Kölsch beer. You can taste aroma and exquisite taste only by visiting Cologne or the nearby city of Bonn. Light sparkling beer with an alcohol content of up to 4.7% should not be transported for a long time, from which its qualities can be lost forever. Therefore, the Cologne breweries provide the needs of the entire neighborhood.

Therefore, the Cologne breweries meet the needs of the entire neighborhood for Kölsch flavored draft beer.

Traditionally, Köls in beer restaurants and pubs delivers Köbes, a strong, well-built waiter. And do not call him - Aubert, as is customary in other parts of Germany, he will always be there without your hail, if only your glass is empty.

And this will continue until you feel that beer has filled all of your essence from head to fingertips, then boldly put a cardboard mug under the glass of beer on the glass - this will signal to the person in blue uniform that you "fed up."

Köbez moves decisively between the rows with a huge Kolschkranz tray, which, having up to 15 cells for glasses on the bottom, looks like a charged colt clip. Glasses are traditionally tall, with steep, even walls, although their capacity is only 200 ml. True beer connoisseurs argue that drinking beer from large glasses is not worth it, as the aroma of beer disappears and the bright sparkling palette disappears. The draft beer Kölsch is popular, although there are beer lovers in special barrels, and even in bottles. Cologne brands Sion, Gansa, Dom, Gaffel and Kuppers most popular today. If you come to Cologne, you should definitely visit the beer restaurant FRÜH, beloved by all locals and tourists.

It is located next to the beautiful Cathedral - one of the country's famous attractions. In front of the restaurant is the fountain of the Cologne gnomes. Going inside, you find yourself in an old beer cellar. Guests sit on wide wooden benches behind uncovered tablecloths on large, slightly rough wooden tables. In any weather, at any time of the year, the restaurant has a lot of visitors. The hall can accommodate up to three hundred people, while tables are also set up on the street near the restaurant entrance.

The Peter Jozef Fruch Brewery, opened in 1904, offers its signature beer of the same name, delicious traditional German dishes, and Cologne snacks.

Walking in the evening in Cologne, we looked into this beer restaurant, since the guide advised him one more day as one of the real beer pantries. We were glad, only we crossed the threshold of the institution. A taut, nimble and rather sturdy Köbez led us along countless tables, where sat where in solitude, where large groups of guests of the institution. It seemed that while weaving through the basement corridors, we would never be able to find a free corner, but we were incredibly lucky, there was a wooden table with benches as strong as our waiter at the very aisle.

And here is the menu in our hands. What do we want? Yes of course beer! And traditional German sausages, as without them. In less than a couple of minutes, the beer was displayed in thin glasses on our table. In our questioning opinion, when assessing the amount of beer, Köbez marked something with a pencil on a cardboard ... The first sip was made, the beer is excellent, unusual, having its own unique aroma and delicate unfamiliar taste. Just having had time to try a charming drink, beer was already drunk. Our omnipresent waiter, coming from nowhere, was already standing in front of us with full glasses of beer. Waiting for branded German sausages, six marks were already made on our cardboard berdickels with a pencil, each of us emptied three glasses of excellent Kölsch beer. Sausages only boosted our appetite and desire to overturn more than a couple of Kölsch cups. An hour later, we were already looking for a toilet in the endless labyrinths of basements and corridors. It was not difficult, but without it in such an institution in any way. And so, having returned back to our roughly cut wooden table, which has already become a cozy “our” corner, we with great pleasure set about a new portion of Kölsch with an equally delicious fried pork leg. The evening continued, neither we nor our neighbors from Scandinavia, who had chosen a distant table, were in a hurry to leave. And how can you leave this paradise of Cologne, where excellent food and the enchanting drink of Kölsch made relaxation truly divine.

Men's Clothing in Ancient Rome

It's time to get dressed. What do the Romans wear? We are used to seeing them in films and performances wrapped in multi-colored togas that look like long sheets. But is this always the case? In fact, at first glance, these robes are completely uncomfortable and constrain movement, making it difficult to run, climb stairs or even sit down without clinging to anything.

Ciampino Airport in Rome: how to get and fly cheaply

Ciampino Airport (Aeroporto di Roma-Ciampino, CIA code) in Rome is small but very economical. This is the “native” airport of the low-cost airline Ryanair. Agree that the opportunity to travel around Europe, buying tickets, for example, from Rome to Barcelona or to Sicily for 11-40 euros is very attractive.

Metro in Rome - instructions for use

The Roman Metro (Metropolitana di Roma) is the youngest in Europe, it is only 60 years old. It is not as branched as the Barcelona subway, and its length is three times less than the London subway, but the scheme is almost as strict and logical as that of Moscow. This is a very convenient, and therefore a popular form of municipal transport of the Eternal City.
