Corniglia - a small paradise of Italian winemakers

Corniglia is the smallest city in the Cinque Terre National Park. It differs from the rest of the cities of Pyatisemye in that it is not located on the very shore of the Ligurian Sea, but at an altitude of about 100 meters above its level. Therefore, it will not work to get to it by sea - only by land modes of transport.

If the other cities of the Cinque Terre - Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Manarola, Monterosso - are closely connected with the sea, then life in Corniglia is more inclined to land, to agriculture. On three sides, the city is surrounded by luxurious vineyards, it also produces excellent wine.

How to get there

The most suitable way to get to the Cinque Terre Park and specifically to Corniglia from other cities in Italy is by rail. Trains to Spezia come from Genoa, Turin, Milan, Pisa; in La Spezia, you need to take the train to Corniglia. You can also walk from the railway station to the city center - but you have to go uphill, it is quite difficult, especially on a hot summer day. Therefore, a direct bus runs to the city center. His schedule can be found at the station, but in fact he usually leaves as soon as a sufficient number of passengers are disembarked from the train.

It consists of 377 steps; to climb it is not an easy test, but those who have climbed the whole ladder will be greeted at the top with a sign. However, it is much more convenient to get to your destination by bus and go back on foot: the descent is much easier than the climb, and along the way you can admire stunning panoramas of the surroundings.
