7 reasons not to worry about the weather in Rome

What is the weather like in Rome? What to wear? How to stop worrying? We plan your perfect vacation in the Eternal City.

If you don’t watch TV, do not read the news and are not inclined to worry at all, stop reading paragraphs 1 and 3 and save your time. Better read other entertaining articles about Rome.

  1. Rome always has good weather, relative to most cities. On average, we always have 10 degrees more than in Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, Prague, Amsterdam and so on. Rome is a sunny city.
  2. From November to March, when rains are possible in Rome, there are fewer tourists, which means you will be more comfortable. The heat in July-August can reach +40 degrees, but during these months we just walk at dawn from 5 to 10 in the morning, then we sleep at home and go to the night promenade at the Tiber from 21 pm.
  3. It is impossible to predict the weather for more than 6 hours with a probability of more than 50%, which means that any forecast even for a day is a fortune-telling on coffee grounds. More than once I was convinced that “according to the forecast the rain” turned out to be an excellent sunny day.
  4. Worrying about the weather is a sign of weakness. All weather is only in your head. I always look at the weather from the positive side - if it is forecasted to rain, then an hour will drip, and then there will be sun, rainbow and beautiful reflections in puddles.
  5. From May to October, there’s a period when in Rome for months there may not be a single drop of rainfall.
  6. Rome is located just 30 kilometers from the sea, which means the weather changes here often. The days when rain pours without interruption from the strength will be typed in about five a year. Usually "in Rome it rains" means that it will rain for 10-15 minutes, but several times a day. If you are exposed to rain, you can always go to one of the thousands of incredibly beautiful churches or the nearest bar for a cup of coffee.
  7. Snow. How I dreamed of seeing snow in Rome! The penultimate time, snow fell in Rome, though only for a couple of hours, in February 2012. And then on February 26, 2018, after 5 years of expectations, my dream came true - it was fabulous! The next time is possible in 10-20 years.

“Speaking of forest terraces (foreigner traveler, author's note). All winter, a wonderful, amazing winter, a hundred times better than the summer of St. Petersburg, all this winter, to my great happiness, I have not seen forest terraces; but now suddenly a bunch of them came over to Easter, and between them a whole group of Russians. What an unbearable people! He came and is angry that there are unclean streets in Rome, there are absolutely no entertainments, many monks ... "
