Restaurant Trattoria del Sale in Sicily

After the tour in Museum of salt we stayed for lunch with Mario and Antonella in the restaurant, which is located in the same building as the museum on the beach, 10 km from Trapani.

The location is both a minus and a plus of this place, since getting there is only possible by personal car. But on the other hand, having rendered in this authentic family restaurant, you have excellent chances to burst from gluttony. The cuisine here is, of course, full of seafood and garlic.

While we were getting acquainted with the menu, they brought us bread and tomato-garlic sauce, so to speak, for appetite.

The trattoria has a rather high price tag, however, a menu for 20 euros per person was developed specifically for tourists, including main dishes of Sicilian cuisine, and this is much more profitable than making an order from the main menu.

Maybe for someone there are four dishes and a bit too much, but no one will be left hungry for sure.

For starters, several types of snacks: cheese, prosciutto, olives, fish and seafood.

The last snack is mussels. In principle, this could have been finished, but there was still paste, fish and dessert.

As soon as we sat down at the table, Mario warned us not to rush anywhere and eat for our pleasure. Later, we realized why he focused on this our attention - to eat so much at a time and quickly just does not work, but everything is so delicious, and then the panic begins.

This type of pasta, characteristic of Sicily, is called buziat, and it is made manually. Pasta is cooked, of course, with garlic.

Sprinkle grated parmesan on top.

The second, of course, is fish, and not just any, but only tuna. We are in Sicily! Unfortunately, at this time of year there is no fresh tuna here, so the dish is made from frozen fish. And still very tasty.

And for dessert, lemon sorbet. What you need after a hearty dinner.

After sitting a little longer, we ordered coffee. A birthday was celebrated at a nearby table and, oddly enough, they shared with us a piece of a festive cake. Hospitality, openness and friendliness - characteristic features of real Sicilians, so even strangers here are ready to come to the rescue and share their holiday.

Nevertheless, history knows women who have had a very tangible influence both on the course of the history of their countries and of the whole world.
